Let's go 2008!

2007 (including the holidays) was kinda rough...and 2008 started with a crappy Rose Bowl showing by the ILL-INI. So I hope to fuck's sake 2008 gets better. Thank god that my UofI memories are more about friends than sports, BUT - at least I started the year off right by having a few drinks with my lady in a neighborhood watering hole - the Fireside Lounge. I heart the Fireside Lounge. It's my new favorite Chicago bar - because it feels more like it's in the northwoods or someplace other than a trixied city. It was a super bonus that it was snowy and pretty and that it was the first day of Illinois' smoking ban. All that almost made up for the fact that the beautiful snow storm made my car doors freeze shut, prohibiting me from entering my car this morning until I kicked the door in. I heart snow.
